Below is a number of resources available to help provide support. We also provide limited funding for professional mental health services.
Ottawa First Responders Support & Family Assistance Fund
The Foundation has funding available to support City of Ottawa First Responders (police, fire, and paramedic services); active, veterans, retirees, and their family members on their journey towards improving their mental wellness.
Any one of the following:
- Fire Services Members
- Paramedic Services Members
- Police Services Members
- Retirees and Veteran Service Members
- Family of Service Members
(Note: If approved funding will be reimbursed to the clinician with in 2 weeks time.)
All information is collected and secured in accordance with the Information and Privacy Commissioner of Ontario and PHIPA, Personal Health Information Protection Act.
The Foundation at this time has limited funding and shall need to review every application. Not every application may be supported. Applications are reviewed monthly and those approved will be sent funding as quickly as possible after approval.
The Foundation is willing to consider funding support for many programs including those offered by registered professionals in a one-on-one or group format. We are also not seeking to limit funding to just clinical-type settings. We would rather remain open to consider other avenues towards wellness including those not traditionally covered by most service providers.
